Saracens U6s & U7s well represented at the Allianz finals festival, Saturday 27th February.

Congratulations to all our U6/7s for fantastic performances at the Allianz Festival, a reflection of the whole squad.

Saracen's U6s & U7s were very well represented at the Allianz finals festival on Saturday 27th February, with three teams playing in the high profile competition.

Only teams that topped their group in the previous qualifying competitions in December and January were involved. We have a relatively small squad, so getting three teams into the final stage is an achievement in itself.

All three teams showed great dedication through a long rainy morning with some tough competition. All of our teams tried hard and played in a sporting manner; they should all be very proud of the way they played.

The champions competition was played at a ferocious pace with all the competitors having topped their qualifying groups. One of our teams beat every team they played in both the group stage and the semi-final, winning them the chance to play Hertford in the final.

One of our other sides competed well and managed to win a game, which was a great achievement bearing in mind it was finals day and they were playing against some strong opposition. Our other team were unlucky not to progress to the semis as they won 1, drew 2 and only lost 1.

The final took place in front of more than 7,400 people at half time during the Saracens professionals' match. Despite the intimidating atmosphere, high pressure and excellent opposition the boys were very focused and confident in their play. With dazzling footwork, and phase after phase of great support play, Saracens scored almost every time they had the ball. When Hertford had the ball, the Saracens were well organised and worked hard to get back into line quickly after each tag was taken, forcing a few turnovers. Hertford showed why they were in the final and were very strong themselves but Saracens kept the pressure up all the way to the final whistle and ran out as deserving winners.

The effort that all players are puting into training has been of a high standard throughout the season so far. Both age groups are certainly very talented and have progressed well - let's keep the momentum going!
